Wrap up of the second Spectrum Scale user group in Australia – April 2017 – Sydney, Australia

Hi there, it has been a busy time for us here in Australia, and we have had some fantastic Usergroup events.
Apologies for not posting my blogs earlier.

I’d like to write about the event we had on the 26th and 27th April in Sydney.

Sydney saw our best-attended event so far with 29 registered attendees and speakers.

We had kind sponsorship from Mellanox and IBM Australia and we were hosted in the IBM offices in North Sydney, wonderfully close to good coffee and food and the train!

On Wednesday we kicked off with a fabulous whiskey and cheese night event hosted by Mellanox to allow some time to meet and discuss many aspects of operating Spectrum Scale, new projects and make connections nationally.

Spectrum Scale User Group (Australia) Meeting – Brisbane October 2017

Location: Rydges Hotel – Tuesday, October 17, 2017 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM (AEDT) (The post-usergroup event activity will be after this until approximately 9:30pm).

The agenda is being finalised, included in the day will be technical presentations on Spectrum Scale.

Wrap-up of the first Spectrum Scale User Group in Australia – October 2016

Ah wonderful Melbourne, I haven’t been in Melbourne for a few years but it doesn’t seem to change that much, still a nice place to enjoy.

It was quite a long flight from Perth but all went smoothly with the event thanks to efforts by Justin Glen from DDN (sponsoring organisation) and Scott Fadden – IBM (sponsoring organisation).

So after a great catch-up dinner and chat with Scott Fadden and other attendees such as Suda from Mellanox and Justin from DDN, it was off to bed for an early start for check-ins the next morning (fortunately I ran the desk alongside a great coffee or two – Melbourne is definitely the place for coffee).
